Carinthia is accessible comfortably and directly, by all the main traffic routes. From Munich, Vienna, Zagreb or Venice it takes about three hours by car to Carinthia.
From the direction of Munich
From Munich take the A8 to Salzburg; continue on the A10/Tauern motorway southbound via Radstadt-Tauerntunnel-Katschbergtunnel – in the direction of Villach; then proceed to Klagenfurt. Leave the motorway at the Klagenfurt-Nord exit, in the direction of St. Veit/Feldkirchen; then follow the S37 highway in the direction of Friesach, as far as the St. Veit exit. From the direction of Vienna
Follow the A2 motorway in the direction of Klagenfurt, via Graz. Take the Klagenfurt-Nord exit in the direction of St.Veit/Feldkirchen; then follow the S37 highway in the direction of Friesach as far as the St. Veit exit. Please note: motorway vignette required! (Or you could alternatively follow the S37 highway from Vienna to St.Veit, via Leoben – Judenburg – Scheifling. Motorway vignette required!)
From the direction of Wels/Linz
Follow the Pyhrn motorway via Sattledt – Liezen – St.Michael/Styria – Judenburg – Scheifling – St. Veit. Motorway vignette required!
